Lisa Imperiale

Lisa Imperiale is a graduate of Moore College of Art and Design and a founding member of BYO Print. She is a long time resident of Philadelphia and in addition to her studio practice is a marketing professional and graphic designer. Working primarily in relief, Lisa's woodblock prints are a reflection of her vibrant Philadelphia neighborhood and connection to its familiar spaces and forms. Inspired by the city's industrial past and its ever changing shape as it grows and contracts, Lisa uses imagery gathered from the repetition of routine and her urban treks. Drawing from memory she assembles layers of architectural information, blending together familiar spaces and textures, overlapping buildings and neighborhoods over time to craft familiar yet imaginary cities.
